This is a 32-lesson module that is intended to be the first in a series to develop the full understanding and use of fractions. In this module the student learns the meaning of "numerator" and "denominator" and how fractions relate to other labeled quantities. The student learns to perform all four functions with fractions and other labeled quantities. They will learn how to read a ruler, and the relationships between various labeled entities like feet and inches, ounces and pounds, etc. This module is designed for students in the 6th through 8th grade who have a good grasp of the addition and multiplication facts.
