Three powerful words associated with
The Keystone School
are -- 1) Dream, 2) Connect, and 3) Achieve. These words
are more than a motto at The Keystone School. These words guide us in our
efforts to give your child the best educational and life experience possible.
Dream. What are your child's
dreams? We want to know.
- Does your child dream of high school
graduation and then college? Our graduates have been accepted to over
175 different institutions
of higher education. Our students have been accepted to junior colleges,
trade schools, state colleges and ivy league universities.
- Does your child dream of sports or the arts?
We help athletes and performers achieve their academic goals while allowing
them the time and flexibility to focus on their talents as well.
- Does your child dream of knowledge and
being all that she can be? We help advanced students seek
challenges not available at their local
school.
- Does your child dream of getting back
on track after a set back? We help students with
Credit Recovery,
so they can continue to dream their dream and reach for the sky.
Connect.
Although Keystone students learn at a distance, the support and school
experience at The Keystone School are hands-on. From the minute your child
enrolls in the Keystone program, you and your child can access teachers,
learning coaches, counselors,
administrative staff, and other students. We're always just
an email
or phone call away. Your child can connect with other students through
message boards, extracurricular activities, and even a staff-moderated
Keystone Facebook page.
- Teacher Support--All
Keystone
teachers are licensed and certified, have an average of eight years of
experience as educators, and are specifically trained in how to teach in an
online environment. We encourage students to reach out to their teachers as
often as they need. Students can count on hearing back from teachers within one
business day and will receive feedback on assignments within three business days
for online courses and seven business days for correspondence courses.
- Learning Coach--Our learning coaches are here to
help craft a plan of success for each student enrolled in four or more courses.
Your child's learning coach will answer questions, assist with goal setting, and
help with course selections. The learning coach also hosts a monthly student
orientation and parent meeting.
- Guidance Counseling--As part of Keystone's
mission to empower students to achieve their academic and personal goals, your
child's Keystone guidance counselor will play a key role. Our guidance
counselors are licensed and trained to help students with post-high school
planning, including college application processes and career discovery. Our
counselors offer monthly online sessions on a host of relevant topics.
- Parent Involvement--Keystone is committed to
helping parents become actively involved in their child's education by providing
tools that regularly update their child's achievements. As an example, parents
have access to a Keystone Parent Observer Account that provides ongoing
real-time accounting of their child's progress.
Achieve. Keystone's sole focus is
student success. If that success includes college, Keystone's certified
Guidance Counselors are uniquely qualified to help your child through the
college admissions process. This process includes preparation for the SAT and
ACT exams, online sessions that guide your child through the college application
and admissions process, and guidance for your child to build a personalized
higher-education and career plan. Our graduates have demonstrated a high level
of success in college, with over 80% returning for their second year of college
(as reported by the National Student Clearinghouse).
At The
Keystone School, we work hand-in-hand with parents and students to assure
Keystone students achieve their full potential.
Dream. Connect. Achieve. Not just a motto at The Keystone
School!
