As a parent, protecting your child can seem
like a full-time job. Luckily, when it comes to protecting your child from
the Internet,
KidsEmail.org
can help.
That's because
KidsEmail.org
provides a safe and easy to use e-mail interface which allows your child to
safely keep in touch with family and friends. KidsEmail provides parental
controls, spam filtering, and so much more. It allows you to decide
how your child will communicate online.
Specifically,
KidsEmail
offers--
Mail Monitoring
As a parent, you can receive a copy of all incoming and/or outgoing email
that is sent to/from your child. This is a simple setting that can be
enabled/disabled if desired.
Time Restrictions
This option restricts the times of the day and the days of the week that
your child can log on. You can even ground your child for a certain
period of time and display a custom message when your child attempts to log
on!
Contact Manager
As the parent, you are the individual who determines who can add contacts to
your child's contact list. Just you? Or can your child also add to
his/her contact list? In addition, you can deny the sending and/or receiving
of emails to/from anyone not belonging to your child's contact list (so it's
configurable).
The Mail Queue
The Mail Queue allows you to intercept an email that fails the safety rules
that you set for your child (such as someone not in their contact list
attempting to send an email). You can then approve the email to be sent to
your child or deny and remove the email from the mail queue.
Block Individual
Senders
If you allow your child to receive email from anyone, you can still block
specific people by adding them to a custom blacklist.
Activity Logs
As the parent, you can see when your child logs on and when s/he attempts to
log on during a restricted time period.
Filter Capabilities
You can filter out offensive words,
remove links within incoming e-mails, remove images within incoming e-mails,
and of course, filter spam.
Tag Line
You can determine whether the e-mails
your child sends, contain a tagline informing the recipient the message is
being sent by a child.
In addition,
KidsEmail
is user friendly and visually appealing. KidsEmail provides simple and
attractive pages for children of all ages. There are different log-in pages,
depending on the age of the child, and different e-mail addresses as well (@KidsEmail.org
for the younger kids and @Kmail.org for the older kids).
