After exploring some of the indoor attractions at Hershey we welcomed a stroll through the Hershey Gardens & Butterfly House. Catherine Hershey loved roses, and her husband built a beautiful botanical garden in her honor that now comprises 23 acres in Hershey, Pennsylvania that includes 7,000 roses with 275 varieties represented. |

In addition to the Rose
Gardens there is an Arboretum, a Japanese Garden, a Magnolia Grove, Oak Grove, Ornamental Grasses, a Perennial Flower Garden, Seasonal Flower Displays - and
even a Rock Garden. A recent addition to the Hershey Gardens is the Butterfly House and Garden. The variety of flowers and shrubs in this enclosed environment attracts over 300 butterflies representing 25 North American species. Visitors who enter the garden may walk along the path and watch the beautiful insects flutter about the flowers. Those with patience can sit in designated areas where butterflies often alight on a guest for a brief respite. Docents provide information on the life cycle of butterflies along with other interesting facts about these remarkable insects. Special events and educational programs are offered in the Gardens and in the Butterfly House. For a Picture Tour of the Hershey Gardens and Butterfly House visit:
