The first day of Spring, is March 20th – it’s time to start thinking about spring planting, and how to incorporate it into your homeschooling!

FYI – following is a poem about a Spring garden by Else Holmelund Minarik.  It might be fun to teach this poem to your children and combine it with a planting project.

Little Seeds

by Else Holmelund Minarik

Little seeds we sow in spring
growing while the robins sing,
give us carrots, peas and beans,
tomatoes, pumpkins, squash and greens.

And we pick them,
one and all,
through the summer,
through the fall,

Winter comes, then spring, and then
little seeds we sow again.
