“From the comfort of your own home, you can study with two of the best Advanced Placement teachers in the country. In real time, with a real teacher. This is homeschooling at its best!”

Rebecca Kochenderfer, Senior Editor, Homeschool.com

Why are Advanced Placement Classes Important?

Statistically across the nation, universities have approximately a 50% drop out rate and a 50% remediation rate in at least one area of study.  This means that one in two students will not actually graduate at all in any time frame or begin their college career behind their peers.  Statistics have shown that students who have successfully passed two AP exams have shown a greater than 80% potential of graduation regardless of the time frame, even if it is beyond four years.
Nationally, only 20% of the student population takes an AP course.  Of these top public school students only 20% achieve a 4 or 5 and only 60 percent pass with a 3 or better.  Home School students will compete with these top public school students by taking and successfully passing AP exams.

While Community College plays a role in the homeschooler's pursuit of college course work, it alone is not the best option. It does not distinguish the homeschooler from college minded public school students who will matriculate to their local community college in droves, just a year or two later after their home school peers.  AP allows the home school student to gain national recognition and compete for the best universities in the country with the rest of the nation's top students.  Effectually, only 15% of the nation's high school population will pass one AP exam with a 3 or better; by your student passing just one AP exam they join this elite group of academically prepared students in the country.  The better the grade and the more AP exams taken will continue to elevate the student into the higher echelons of the country's best students. Some of our students have achieved the status of an AP Scholar with Honor and more are on their way to achieving this very important level of achievement
