Thai Culture

IMG_1702
Most Thai people are Buddhists and their beliefs are very important to them.
IMG_1698
The Thais also have very colorful and exciting mythologies.

Temples like this one are called 'wats'. They are where most Buddhists go to worship.
IMG_1500
It's not always possible to get to a temple, so small shrines are often constructed. Someone has kindly left a bottle of water here as an offering.

Even the Buddhist monks get out occasionally for a bit of sightseeing or shopping. The orange robes are a common sight in Thailand.

Visitors enjoy watching traditional Hill Tribe dancers.

This dance recreates a harvest ritual.

Elephants are a common sight in many parts of Thailand. Their riders often stay with them for life.
