When I ask home school families why they are home schooling their kids, I get answers like...
  • We don't want their minds corrupted by the worldly influence and secular teachings of our public school system.
  • Our public schools system in our area is horrible.
  • We can't afford private school and even if we could we're not so sure that the influence our kids would be exposed to is any better than the public school system.
  • We want the flexibility to be able to give our kids a customer top quality education that will prepare them for the real world.

Now there are, of course, many other answers to this question, but these are the most common ones that I get and they are the same reasons that my parents home schooled my younger brother Brandon and me.
My name is Nathan Jurewicz. I'm 30 years old, I grew up in a Christian home, and I was home schooled and raised to be an entrepreneur. After starting several successful businesses in real estate and Internet marketing and training thousands of "full grown" entrepreneurs on how to make money in today's recession I realized one thing...
By the time people realize that educating yourself so you can get a "safe and secure job" doesn't work in today's recession (with unemployment at an all-time high) they are usually in their late 30's, 40's or even 50's or 60's.
Traditional education although necessary doesn't teach skills like...

  • How to figure out what your unique abilities and purpose are in life as it applies to a business that is in demand in today's economic environment.
  • How to handle and invest your money wisely so you don't end up another statistic that is drowning in debt.
  • How to wisely choose a business partner that compliments any character traits, personality type or unique abilities that you don't have.
  • How to develop the proper communication skills to get yourself "in" with the right people that will take you to where you want to go in your professional career (this one is EXTREMELY important and often overlooked). Remember it's not always what you know, it's who you know and how you monetize those relationships.
  • How to make a living in areas like distressed real estate, E-bay sales, video marketing, social media marketing, affiliate marketing and how to capitalize on the Internet (just to name a few).

What I loved about growing up in a home school environment was that home school families have a different mentality than most other families...
While most families are too busy blaming society, the education system, the economy, unemployment, the cost of higher education and college for one or several of their problems, home school families take responsibility for their children's education and their future.
This is the same mindset that I was raised to have. The home school community takes RESPONSIBILITY for their own well-being. For example...

  • If the education system is bad... we create our own education at home.
  • If the curriculums that we are using don't teach what we want them to teach, we don't protest, we simply find different curriculums.
  • And most importantly, if the economy is bad and unemployment is at an all-time high, we position ourselves to create our own jobs.

It's important to focus our teaching efforts on real world skills so our children can go into fields that people actually need in a recession (notice I said "need" I didn't say "want").
For Example:
It probably wouldn't be a good idea to get a job for a company (or start your own company) that sells luxury items such as spas, pools or pool tables.
These are luxury items that people want--they're NOT what they NEED. So layoffs, downsizing and bankruptcies, in most cases, would probably be a common theme in these industries.
It also wouldn't be a good idea to go into residential real estate development in an economic environment where you can now buy houses for less than what they cost to build.
A good way to determine a field to get into during a recession is to look at the negative media coverage.... and figure out a way to position yourself to be very in demand.
For example, when companies are cutting their mass media advertising budgets and dumping it into social media, it might be a good idea to get into the field of social media management. When the real estate market has tanked, and everyone and their uncle is in foreclosure and all of the Investors are starting to come out of the "wood work" to buy distressed properties, it might be a good idea to get into distressed property wholesaling.
These are just a few examples. To find out more click here.
Now hopefully some of the information I have provided makes sense and you will be able to use it in your own career... but here is where most people come up short...They Don't Instill this Mindset in their Children at an Early Enough Age! This is why my younger brother Brandon and I have made it our mission to teach, encourage and inspire young entrepreneurs and home school families all over the country by creating our curriculum Real World Prep.
When you click on this link you will have the opportunity to see our free presentation on how to prepare your children for the real world the same way our parents prepared us.
And I'll tell you my story, I'll cover all the best opportunities that young entrepreneurs can start doing now, and I'll explain what the 4 mentality types are--and which types end up drowning in debt and which ones end up rich.
Plus you will also get a free demo of my highly acclaimed entrepreneur curriculum Real World Prep which teaches entrepreneurial mindset, money skills, real estate and Internet marketing 101.

It's about figuring out what your unique abilities are and defining your life's purpose so you can do what you want and live a more successful and more fulfilling life rather than just being another statistic.

So please make sure to CLICK HERE and I'll see you on the presentation!
