The Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) is accepting submissions for their 2010 Art Contest. It is opened to all homeschooled students from the ages of 7 to 19. Submissions are being accepted from now until February 1, 2010. All submissions post marked after February 1st will either be returned or just discarded, so please have your submissions post marked in time.
Each student will be able to submit ONE piece of artwork. There are three categories and each is grouped by ages. The categories are:
1-Trustworthy for ages 7 to 10
2-Tranquil for ages 11 to 14
3-Tenacious for ages 15 to 19
The age is based upon homeschool student’s age as of January 1, 2010.
The word is meant for inspiration and does not actually have to appear in the finish project. HSLDA wishes for the artist to be creative but at the same time remember this is for public display and to keep the content appropriate.
“Being an American” Essay contest is underway again this year. It is the largest essay contest and is opened to all high school students between the ages of 13 to 19, including homeschoolers. Last year there were over 31,000 participants, and they expect to have far more this year.
