Monday, November 21,  6:15 PM to 7:00 PM (ET)

After a brief review showing how Hands-On Equations is used to solve an equation such as

4x + 3 = 3x + 9,  you will learn how problems such as the following can be made visual:

  • Five times a number, increased by 2, is the same as three times the same number, increased by 12. Find the number.
  • James and Jack have the same number of pencils. James has four boxes. Jack has two of the same boxes as James and 6 extra pencils. All the boxes have the same number of pencils. How many pencils are in each box?
  • Karen is 6 years older than twice Pedro’s age. If the sum of their ages is 27, how old is each?
