In September of 2011, Chuggington partnered with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to create the ‘Think Safe, Ride Safe, Be Safe! campaign, a compelling traffic safety program that provides families with important traffic safety resources. To date, more than 270,000 children nationwide have taken the pledge to ‘Be Safe!’ by promising to always buckle their seat belt, wear a helmet when riding their bike and only cross the street with an adult.

Here are a few traffic safety tips that you will find useful in their resolution to ‘Be Safe’ as a family:

  • Always walk on a sidewalk, if there is no sidewalk, walk facing traffic.
  • Insist that children of all ages wear a helmet while biking. Make it a rule: No helmet, no riding.
  • Before you install a car seat, read the instructions that came with your car seat. Also read the car owner’s manual.
  • Always fasten your baby in the car seat before covering with blankets.

Chuggington is a fun way to teach safety, and fun learning is forever learning.
