Recycling Facts

How long does it takes for garbage to break down?  Some answers are astounding!

  • plastics take 500 years
  • aluminum cans take 500 years
  • organic materials take 6 months
  • cotton, rags, and paper take 6 months

With Earth Day just a few days away (it’s on 4/22), we thought you might want to incorporate this info into your Earth Day lessons(s).  And FYI – here is an entire page of recycling facts – https://www.pinterest.com/wcmemphis/recycling-facts/.
