Hello, I am looking for a homeschooling program for my

daughter who is gifted. My daughter was in the gifted

program in 1st and 2nd grade when we lived in Florida.

Now we live on a Military base overseas and there is not

a Gifted program here at the school. In fact, the school

is so small that the 2nd and 3rd grades are combined, and

there are only 4 kids total in her class. The work is

way too easy for her, and she is not stimulated at all,

which is resulting in her sitting and daydreaming while

the teacher tries to help the other kids.

I found a curriculum I like, but it is not an actual

“Homeschool” and it is not accredited. So my question

is, does she have to be in an accredited Homeschool, or

can I just teach her the curriculum at home. We will be stationed overseas for the next 2 years. Then we will be

moving back to the states again, and she will be enrolled

once again in a gifted program.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

It is difficult to answer not really knowing which homeschool law you will be under. The general answer is no, it does not need to be accredited. Here is one good source for information that involves homeschooling in the military:

Here is another source for gifted homeschooling:
