DigiPen Homeschool provides students in grades K-12 with opportunities to study video game programming, art and animation, game design, engineering, music and sound design, science, math, and reading writing, in courses uniquely designed by DigiPen for homeschooled students. By taking a DigiPen Homeschool course, students will also develop age appropriate study skills in each course, including research, note-taking, organizational skills, and writing.
DigiPen also has a full-year opportunity for Teens – the DigiPen Game Development Academy. The DigiPen Game Development Academy is a challenging, multidisciplinary experience designed to teach students how to create video games using math, physics, computer science, art and animation, sound and music, and game design principles.
Young Explorers courses are for students entering grades K-3, Junior courses are for students entering grades 4-7, and Teen courses for students entering grades 8-12. DigiPen Homeschool families have the option of taking classes on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, from 9:30am-12:00pm and/or 12:30pm-3:00pm. Additionally, students in grades 4-12 have the option of attending a free Academic Success Lab following the afternoon session that allows them to receive instructional help in their various classes. Students are supervised at all times, so parents are not required to stay on campus. In between the two class sessions, a supervised lunch period is provided to students where they can bring in a sack lunch or order lunch and purchase snacks through DigiPen!
