I would suggest, let them "have at it" on their own. If they are interested, they'll figure out what they need to know.
This is how both my daughters learned how to make great slide shows on Powerpoint...something I don't know how to do. We installed the program and they knew what the product should be - they'd seen a few powerpoint presentations before - and they just messed around for hours until they figured it out. It's amazing all the other things they've learned (and taught me) just from "playing around."
