It can be overwhelming at all the possibilities and plus you do not really want to overload your phone with too many. The potential to use apps to organize your homeschool cannot be overlooked though. It’s a great way to organize your day by making the most of every hour. Many apps can be used by the whole family to keep everyone on the same page with events, outside lessons, clubs, and church activities.
Apps For Homeschool Organization
- Evernote– is a free app for your smartphone and computer that stores everything you could possibly imagine losing track of, like a boarding pass, receipt, the article you want to read, to-do list, or even a simple typed note. The app works brilliantly, keeping everything in sync between your computer, smartphone, or tablet
- Dropbox– cloud storage for your digital files, bring your files and cloud content together with the tools your team wants to use.
- Our Home– OurHome is a simple way to organize your family. Kids will be motivated to do chores and take responsibility while parents can reward them for their effort.

Apps And Websites For Learning On The Go
Do not forget the reading and educational opportunities that are available with apps for your students and you to take learning on the road with you whether you are doing some “roadschooling” or driving to outside events. What exactly is “roadschooling”? How does roadschooling work? Roadschooling is a growing trend in which families pack up their belongings and take their homeschooling on the road. Many families who embrace this lifestyle integrate what they are seeing and experiencing into their child’s homeschool curriculum. Using apps helps you bring the learning tools you need along with you.
- Overdrive– is a free service offered by your library or school that lets you borrow digital content (like ebooks and audiobooks) anytime, anywhere.
- Kindle, iBooks, or Nook– An e-reader app is a must for your homeschooling device. Just load up all your favorite books for reading at home or on the go.

Meetup– is a way to connect- this is a platform for finding and building local communities. (including homeschool communities and groups!) People use Meetup to meet new people, learn new things, find support, get out of their comfort zones, and pursue their passions, together.
Homeschool Helper– Use it to plan lessons, track student progress, calculate grades, manage book lists, plan field trips, and keep track of tasks.

Supervision is a must with these, especially starting out, and many parents require their teen to allow the parent access to log in and passwords. This brings me to my next very important point.
