What Is Computer Science?

Computer science is all about what learning what computers can actually do. Computer programming (and, thus, coding) is about making the computers do those things. If you want to start coding and programming, you will definitely want to learn a bit about computer science first.

Computer Science and Homeschooling

It’s probably true to state that your students have no idea what it’s like to grow up without computer games and software. Most of today’s students aren’t growing up in situations where they have nothing but board games and Let your homeschooler learn computer science in a self-paced course! outside activities to do. On the contrary, most of today’s students have computer games – but do they know where those computer games came from? Do they know what it took to generate a game that would allow multiple players and communication across the world with complete strangers?

If you’re nodding your head in agreement as you read through this, you’re probably thinking, “So how can I change that?” It’s simple – you can introduce computer science into your homeschooling! “But how, when I don’t understand how that stuff works myself?” you may ask. Fortunately, the solution is easier to come by than you may have thought!
