How to Use Time4Learning in Your Homeschool
Before diving into pricing or electives, many homeschooling parents ask a more foundational question: Will this program actually work for our family and lifestyle?
Time4Learning makes that decision a little easier. It’s a fully online homeschool program, so students can log in and access their courses from just about anywhere—whether they’re using a computer, tablet, or phone. All you need is an internet connection!
Parents also have the flexibility to enroll multiple children, and there’s a discount for additional students in Pre-K through 8th grade. It’s a convenient, family-friendly option that’s designed to fit into your life, not the other way around.
Lesson Planning
One of the things I really appreciate about Time4Learning is how flexible it is for our family. The program is completely student-paced, which means my kids can move through their lessons at a speed that works for them—whether they need extra time to grasp a concept or they’re ready to move ahead quickly. There’s no pressure to “keep up,” and that’s been a huge relief.
If you’re like me and prefer a bit more structure, Time4Learning makes it easy to plan out your school year. You can set goals for finishing a course by a certain date—like the end of a semester or school year—and assign a manageable number of lessons each day. They even provide helpful tools, like a breakdown of how many activities are in each subject and a simple formula to figure out how many lessons to do each week.
The built-in Activity Planner has been a lifesaver! It helps guide my kids through their daily work so they stay on track without feeling overwhelmed. It’s just one more way Time4Learning supports both students and parents in making homeschooling a success.
Recordkeeping
It is important to note that Time4Learning functions as a homeschooling curriculum provider, not a school. Because of this, they do not prepare transcripts, transcript transfers, or diplomas, and a student does not “graduate” from Time4Learning. However, the automated system automatically grades student lessons, records these grades, and maintains easily accessible reports. Additionally, Time4Learning offers resources for transcript and diploma templates. All past work will remain saved in reports during the membership for peace of mind, even after transitioning to new courses.
Teaching
One thing I always like to share with other homeschool families is that Time4Learning is a curriculum provider—not a school. That means they don’t issue diplomas, transcripts, or handle transcript transfers, and students don’t “graduate” from Time4Learning in the traditional sense.
But honestly, that hasn’t been a problem for us. The platform does a great job of automatically grading lessons, keeping track of progress, and storing everything in easy-to-access reports. It gives me peace of mind knowing that all of my child’s work is saved and organized while we’re enrolled.
And for those of us preparing transcripts or diplomas ourselves, Time4Learning offers helpful templates and resources to make that process smoother. It’s reassuring to know that even as we transition to new courses, all past work stays safely stored in the reports.
Support
Time4Learning’s support team is just an email away every day, and you can also reach them by phone Monday through Friday. Plus, there’s a super helpful Facebook Families Group where parents share tips, ask questions, and connect with others using the program—it’s a great place to get advice and feel part of the community!

Time4Learning Highlights
One of the things I love about Time4Learning is how flexible it is for families like ours. You don’t have to wait for a new school year to get started—your membership begins the day you sign up, and you can jump right in whenever it works best for you. It’s also reassuring to know that you’re in control. If life gets busy or you need to take a break, you can pause or cancel your membership anytime through your parent account. And even after making changes, you’ll still have access to the curriculum and all your reports until the end of your billing cycle.
That kind of flexibility has made a big difference for us—it’s one less thing to worry about and helps homeschooling feel more manageable and personalized. Grade levels are as follows:

Time4Learning has long been a trusted name in homeschool education, but its new Cinema Series curriculum marks a bold evolution in digital learning. Designed for Gen Z learners, these courses are built in professional film studios—including former Netflix facilities—and feature story-driven instruction, real teachers, and visually rich content that mirrors the media students consume daily. Each course is self-paced, flexible, and engaging, making it ideal for homeschoolers, hybrid learners, and remote students.

Characters guide learners through complex topics using cinematic storytelling, motion graphics, and real-world applications. The result? Lessons that feel immersive, emotionally resonant, and memorable. - High School Experience
High school courses adopt a masterclass-style format, with mature instruction, studio visuals, and concise segments tailored for independent learners. Subjects like Financial Literacy, Intro to Engineering, and Digital Media offer students a chance to explore future-ready skills in a format that feels cool and relevant.
- Cinematic Lessons: Created in a professional film studio, these lessons are designed to feel like content students would actively choose for themselves.
Story-Driven Instruction: Middle school courses guide students on a narrative journey, integrating real-world examples, character-led lessons, and dynamic editing to significantly boost engagement and comprehension. High school courses deliver mature, masterclass-style instruction with real teachers, studio visuals, and concise segments that promote independent learning. - Made for Screens: The content is specifically designed to align with how Gen Z consumes media – bite-sized and visual-first.

- Seamless and Cost-Free Transition: This significant upgrade is included in your existing Time4Learning membership at no additional cost. Parents will have full control over when to switch, with current courses remaining available through December 31, 2025, to ensure a smooth transition. Switching is quick and easy via the Parent Dashboard, and all past work remains saved in reports. However, parents are cautioned to preview the new courses and determine which archived courses you’ll update because once you switch, you cannot switch back.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Fully Online. Time4Learning is a completely online curriculum. This may be a good option for families who like to homeschool on the go, don’t have a lot of space for extra school supplies, or need a program that’s easily accessible with a login rather than a downloaded program specific to an individual computer.
- Student-Paced Time4Learning Courses. Your students have the option to work through the course as fast as they like. Whether they want to get ahead for an early break or need to take longer on certain lessons, they have the flexibility to do so. It really is time for learning and fun!
- Available Customer Support. Parents aren’t left to figure everything out for themselves. Time4Learning offers weekday support via phone, chat, and email, and even weekend support via email! Please note that during the Back to School season, there is usually a wait due to the heavy volume of calls. We have found that the wait is usually worth it!
- Flexibility for Time4Learning Homeschool Supplementation. Time4Learning offers four core subjects, which allow for a lot of flexibility with supplementing certain electives or studies in addition to the main courses.
- No Accreditation. Time4Learning does not seek accreditation, which results in lower costs for families.
- Worldview. The curriculum is presented with a secular worldview, making it an excellent option for families seeking non-religious coursework. Families who prefer a faith-based program have plenty of flexibility to add in their preferred religious resources.
- Set Lesson Plans. Parents do not need to create lessons; instead, they focus on planning the pacing for their students.
- Recordkeeping. The program creates reports with student grades, which parents can easily print. Lessons also include timestamps on activities for attendance purposes.
- Automatic Grading. Student assignments are automatically graded and recorded by the program, saving parents time and effort.
- Enhanced Engagement and Achievement (Cinema Series): The new cinematic, story-driven lessons with relatable instructors are designed to increase student engagement, comprehension, and boost scores, making learning feel more like preferred content.
- Improved Activity Planner (Cinema Series): The customized Activity Planner directly guides the student’s daily path, making planning more effective for parents.
- No Additional Cost for Upgrade: The Cinema Series is included in existing memberships, offering better courses for the same price.
Cons:
- More Screen Time: Since Time4Learning is a fully online program, the amount of screen time might be a concern for parents looking to reduce it for their children.
- Limited Academic Support: As a curriculum provider and not a school, Time4Learning offers limited academic support for student progress, and weekend support is primarily through email.
- No Accreditation: Time4Learning coursework is not accredited. This could be a drawback for parents who prefer the label of accreditation, particularly if concerned about strict state standards or requirements for selective colleges.

Time4Learning Reviews from Users
- “We used Time4Learning for the first time last school year. This year, we are using the curriculum again, as well as some other resources to meet all the requirements of our state. We love the material provided and the interactive nature of the curriculum. We also like the ability to choose courses that are behind and beyond the current grade to make adjustments for the learning abilities of our children. Time4Learning provides many resources to help you get up and going, and they are used by a large number of homeschoolers. We agree it is time for learning and fun!” – Phil
- “My son is very reluctant when it comes to school. He just doesn’t care for school. Homeschooling was becoming a fight every day, and it was draining both him and me. We chose homeschooling because my son has a health condition that requires so many doctor visits, treatments, hospital visits, etc. He would miss so much school. Homeschooling allows him to learn anywhere and everywhere. I was at the end of my rope. We had used Time4Learning in kindergarten, and it wasn’t a fit then. Now in 2nd grade, it is just what my son needed. It removed me as the one driving and forcing him to “do” school. Now he sees his weekly list of things he needs to get finished, and he chooses. Time4Learning has put him in charge of his own education, and in that way, empowered him. The tests and quizzes show him his progress in real-time. Thank you for making it easy for both of us.” – Jennifer S., Maine
- “We have used Time4Learning for many years, and it’s one of those homeschool curriculum options that truly simplifies life for mom. We enjoy customizing the schedule and assignments, and, of course, the automated grading is a huge benefit for homeschooling families with many children. We’ve used both the elementary, middle, and high school portions of Time4Learning, and though we do enjoy supplementing with extra reading and other projects, this online homeschool curriculum has been a lifesaver over the years.” Rae G., Tennessee
