Katie Shuler is a veteran homeschool mom of two and homeschool expert from Time4Learning. She is a well-loved speaker and shares practical insight from her own experiences.
Dr. Jaumeiko Coleman is the Vice President of Early Literacy Impact at EVERFI. In her role, she enjoys collaborating with colleagues across units as well as external stakeholders on early literacy projects as a subject matter expert. Dr. Coleman’s career focus on spoken language and literacy has been infused in her work in public and private schools, public and private universities, and a not-for-profit association. She is a board member of Learning Disabilities Association of Georgia and Learning Disabilities Association of America.
Rachel Figg is a homeschool mom of four. She is the creator of The Hands-on Homeschool Virtual Enrichment Program- an online program that provides self-paced, done for you classes in the enrichment areas of Music, Art, STEM & PE. She is passionate about partnering with parents to provide the best, most well-rounded education possible to homeschooling families. Kara Peterson. A wife. A mother. A teacher. A writer. A woman. I have had and embraced many roles in my life. It seems that each one prepared me for the next. While I gained a new role, I never lost a previous one. Each one has also taught me an important lesson. wife – how to look at the “long game” mother – how to stop…just stop and listen teacher – the realization that lessons were about life, not language writer – creativity and art comes in all shapes and sizes woman – the importance of connection I believe we all have “seasons” in life. I have now entered a season where I am able to focus on connection and creativity. I embrace this new time in my life as I have all of the others.
Kevin McEvoy is a classically trained artist who attended the oldest active Atelier in Europe and has headed Ateliers / Studios in the USA for over 15 years. He has taught hundreds of students to paint using classical methods. He points them towards using their training to paint the contemporary world around them. His instruction and painting speak to us in common terms, the poetry of everyday life.
Jean Burk is the author of the award-winning College Prep Genius program and has written numerous articles about the SAT and PSAT tests, high school prep, college prep, and how to get free college. She is a Fox News Contributor and has been featured as an SAT and Educational expert on ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, TXA21, CW33, WE, Forbes, UShop TV, and The Homeschool Channel.
Quantrilla Ard, Ph.D., lives in the Atlanta area with her husband and three littles. She is a literary agent, faith-based personal and spiritual development author, and speaker who believes in the power of collective strength, community, and fellowship. As a homeschool mom for the past three years, she has learned the value of grace-ful instruction. She holds a Ph.D. in Health Psychology and is an advocate for social justice focusing on Black maternal and infant health and mortality. Heather Stark stepped down from her role as a school counselor in 2015 and started a girl empowerment business called Grace and Grit Box. She holds a Master of Education in School Counseling from Dallas Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of North Texas.
Emily Fermier brings nearly 20 years of ASL teaching experience to the virtual academy. In 2016, she developed an online ASL curriculum to mirror a lot of what she teaches in a physical classroom. She was first introduced to ASL when she was 12 when she lived next to a girl who was Deaf and was fascinated with the language. She has taught at both the high school and college level, and has a Master of Arts in Integrated Teaching and Learning with a Specialization in ASL Education, from The Ohio State University.
Rebecca Kochenderfer was a co-founder of Homeschool.com but is now retired. She is the author of two popular homeschooling books – “Homeschooling and Loving It!“, and “Joyful Homeschooling“. Rebecca homeschooled her children from preschool through high school and is now focusing her attention on her new venture journaling.com.
Natalie DeMoor Duhon is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Louisiana. She earned a Master of Science in Counselor Education and a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She resides in Lafayette, Louisiana with her husband and seven-year-old daughter. Natalie has experience providing group and individual therapy in inpatient and outpatient settings and has homeschooled her daughter since preschool. Her daughter was the inspiration for her curriculum.
